One day five years ago, she suddenly had a massive nosebleed. She went to the hospital for an examination and was diagnosed with a rare cancer. In the face of cancer, she faced it bravely and set up a Facebook page. The "Girls Fighting Cancer Record" written by her spoke out and cheered up fellow travelers fighting cancer. "Cancer is a test given by God. I believe that I will recover. Bless you! Come on!"

"You are the strong man, you can fly to the sky and hide from the ground. In fact, you are amazing. If you never say that you can't do it..." Ms. Li plucked up her courage and sang the inspirational song "Strong" in front of our camera, the lyrics Has its own shadow and story. Although her voice became a little hoarse due to illness, she still sang very devotedly and indulged in it.

I found out that I have cancer, I thought I would die

A lady with a melodious voice and a sweet appearance, she has loved singing since she was a child. After graduation, she signed to the idol group "Little Dragon and Phoenix", began recording songs, and received dance training. She and two other male members released a Taiwanese song "Net Want Love".

When the prospects were bright, in 2012, 22-year-old Ms. Li was found to have a rare cystic carcinoma of the sinus glands.

Recalling the situation when she became ill, Ms. Li said that before the diagnosis, I had tinnitus for a while. I thought it was otitis media that caused the ear water to be unbalanced. Until one day, I suddenly had nosebleeds for two consecutive nights, and my relatives took me to see an ENT specialist. After examination, the doctor said that the situation was not very good. There was a tumor about 4 cm in size in the nasopharynx, which was finally diagnosed as a rare adenocystic carcinoma.

"At that moment, I couldn't accept it. Why me? I was very worried about my health and appearance. I was afraid that my hair would become bald after chemotherapy. Facing..." Ms. Li said hoarsely.

After 38 radiation treatments, only 30% of the hearing in the right ear is left

Because the tumor was located very close to the aorta, the Hong Kong hospital said that surgical resection was not possible, and the doctor suggested that Ms. Li should receive radiotherapy. She accepted the treatment obediently, hoping to recover quickly, but unexpectedly, radiotherapy and chemotherapy caused her oral and hearing problems.

Ms. Li said, "Frequent treatment, 38 times of radiotherapy and 4 times of chemotherapy in about two months, the effect is not obvious. I remember that after the tenth time of radiotherapy, the oral cavity was damaged, unable to speak or eat, and it was difficult to open my mouth. After one year of treatment, the side effects were severe. In addition to the atrophy of the jaw muscles, the hearing in the right ear was only 30%. Fortunately, I only lost hair at the back of my head, and now I can still grow long hair."

During the interview, the author felt that Ms. Li had to work hard every time she said a word. In addition to her inability to speak clearly, her energy was obviously lacking, and her voice was very weak. But she is very optimistic, she said that music is the magic weapon for her to keep happy.

Music strengthens her heart

Ms. Li said with a smile that she drools a lot less now and often needs to drink water. Although the muscles of the jaws are atrophied and the mouth cannot be opened too much, the doctor said that as long as the muscles are exercised, it can still return to normal. "Although I have problems with voice, hearing, and facial muscles, as long as I can still speak, I will continue to sing." She taught herself ukulele, and also wants to learn to play drums, hoping to improve her musical attainments.

Only women over ninety pounds look weak, but they are actually strong inside. In order to recover as soon as possible, she consulted various anti-cancer materials, followed a diet of more fruits and vegetables and less meat, and avoided fried, pickled and processed foods, and insisted on exercising at the same time.

The cancer cells spread and received cryotherapy

In March 2016, through the introduction of a cancer friend, she came to Guangzhou Fuda Cancer Hospital for treatment. Admission tests revealed that the cancer had spread to the lungs. Doctors at Fuda performed cryoablation of lung metastases and implantation of iodine particles for nasopharyngeal tumors.

Postoperative examination found that Ms. Li's lung tumor and nasopharyngeal carcinoma tumor shrank. The condition improved, which made the lady very happy. She is very grateful to the doctors and nurses at Fuda, "Every medical staff treats me like a friend, and they are all very careful."

On January 3, 2017, Ms. Li went to the hospital again for follow-up consultation. She said happily that she could finally regain her dream of being a singer. Her New Year's wish is: I hope that the upcoming new album will be liked by everyone, and more people will know herself; I hope to share her anti-cancer story with everyone and bring more positive energy to everyone.
