On October 31, 2023, students from Bina Husada Medical College, Indonesia came to Guangzhou Fuda Cancer Hospital for a month-long study and exchange. A symposium was held to further promote in-depth cooperation between hospital and college. Chief president Xu Kecheng, president Niu Lizhi, director of the nursing department Li Ze and heads of relevant departments attended the reception.
Prof. Xu extended a warm welcome to interns and tumor’s arrival. The basic situation of our institute and the internship arrangement were introduced in detail.
Prof. Xu said that as a national key clinical speciality hospital, Fuda is under the management of the Guangdong Provincial Health Commission. It is a modern, international cancer hospital that integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research and preventive health care, embracing high and new technologies. Fuda has attracted patients from more than 100 countries and regions for its unique treatment technology and high-quality services. It also attracts many colleagues and students from home and abroad. He hoped that the students could gain and grow through this internship, continue to practice the Nightingale spirit in future, continuously improve nursing skills, present professional qualities, always be grateful and never give up.
On the morning of November 1, Prof. Niu Lizhi conducted training session on cryoablation technology. During the session, Prof. Niu explained the options for tumor ablation as well as the development, advantages, indications and contraindications of cryoablation. He hoped that this lecture could help the interns understand this technology. During the internship, they can combine theory with practice, which not only improves their professional skills, but also improves their ability to communicate with patients, and allows them to have more profound thinking and planning for their future career.
Mr. Aris, the tumor, said that he came to Fuda as an intern eight years ago, and he often shares what he learned with his classmates. Thanks to internship experience, many of the interns ended up working in famous local hospitals in Indonesia. He hoped that the students would cherish this opportunity, learn hard for higher contribution in health care service.
Now the interns have interspersed into clinical departments and gradually adapted to the environment. Next, the hospital will ramp up effort in teaching and managing, actively organize and coordinate, and ensure the steady progress of internship. At the same time, we hope that through this kind of cooperation, we can further improve the teaching quality, strengthen in-depth cooperation between hospital and college, build an overseas exchange platform, broaden our international horizons, and promote the high-quality development of the hospital.
