The Department of Medical Oncology is based on the standardized cancer treatments, characterized by minimally invasive treatments, such as irreversible electropration (IRE), cryosurgical ablation and cancer interventional therapy etc., and persisted in precision medical treatment. For various solid tumors, such as lung cancer, breast cancer, gastrointestinal tumors (esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, intestinal cancer, pancreatic cancer, liver cancer etc.), head and neck tumors (nasopharyngeal cancer, laryngeal cancer, thyroid cancer, etc.), urogenital tumors (cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, endometrial carcinoma, kidney cancer, prostate cancer, etc.) and lymphoma, etc., featured treatments are applied and MDT discussions are made regularly, aiming at providing the best, tailored and personalized treatments for patients.

Surgical Oncology

Apart from surgery, multidisciplinary cancer treatments are carried out on a routine basis, which have reached the advanced or leading level in China, such as laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer, gastrectomy, radical resection of esophageal cancer, laparoscopic and endoscopic cooperative surgery for gastrointestinal stromal tumor, hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for advanced abdominal malignant tumor, sentinel lymph node biopsy for breast cancer, Mammotome vacuum- assisted breast biopsy, sphincter preserving operation for low rectal cancer and peripherally inserted central catheter. Intravenous infusion port, mastoscopy-assisted surgery and endoscopy-assisted partial thyroidectomy will be carried out soon.

Head and neck tumor surgery is led by Professor Zeng Zongyuan. Prof. Zeng has been engaged in cancer research for more than 40 years. He has great attainments in the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck tumors, especially laryngeal and oral cancer.

Minimally invasive treatments such as irreversible electroporation, cryosurgical ablation, microvascular intervention, photodynamic therapy and brachytherapy etc. are applied as well by the head and neck tumor surgery team for patients with advanced tumors that cannot be surgically removed, which have better treatment effects.

The department has successively carried out a number of new medical techniques and accumulated rich clinical experience. Its clinical applications and experimental studies are at advanced levels at home and abroad, such as postoperative protection of chest function, trachea carinal resection and reconstruction, bronchoplasty and bronchial angioplasty, pneumonectomy and sleeve resection.
