Preparatory Meeting for Asian Society of Cryosurgery

Preparatory meeting for Asian Society of Cryosurgery was successfully held in Guangzhou China on September 4, 2010. More than 20 participants from 6 countries participated in this preparatory meeting. They were focusing on the topic of “the establishment of the Asian Society of Cryosurgery. The topic discussed includes the constitution of the Asian Society of Cryosurgery  and the contribution of Asian region to academic development of international cryosurgery. The meeting finally issued “The Constitution of Asian Society of Cryosurgery”. The establishment of Asian Society of Cryosurgery will facilitate further development in the technology of Asian Cryosurgery. Prof. Zhang Jiren from China was elected as the First Committee Chairman of this meeting; Niu Lizhi P.Hd and Prof. Wu Qing from China and Prof. Masashi Watanabe as Vice-Chairmen; Prof. Cho Tak Shiu from Hong Kong and Prof. Hu Kaiwen from China as Secretary General of this meeting; Prof. Xu Kecheng from China, Prof. Nikolai Korpan from Austria and Prof. Sajio Sumida as Honorary Chairmen of this meeting. There were 17 fellow members including Prof. Kim Ji-hyung from Korea, Prof. Barlian Sutedja from Indonesia, Prof. Yasuyuki Sugiyama from Japan, Prof.Vladimir Shafranov and Prof. Vladimir Ivanovich Kochenov from Russia. This society will be registered in Hong Kong, China. During the preparatory meeting, the participants also discussed about the composition of members: the society fellows would be clinical doctors and technical researchers who are related to cryosurgery treatment. This meeting also decided that on September 2011 the first Asian Society of Cryosurgery General Assembly and Academic Conference will be held in Guangzhou, China.
