On September 2, 2010 the opening ceremony of International Conference Of Radioactive Brachitherapy For Cancer, The Fourth National Conference Of Radioactive Brachitherapy held by Committee of Minimal Invasive Brachytherapy for Cancer from Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, The Tenth National Meeting on Radioactive Iodine Seed Treatment Standardization for Cancer was successfully held in Beijing.
This conference~s purpose was to summarize and exchange the 10-year development, research achievement and experience of radioactive brachytherapy. Through exchanging and learning from each other, we can improve and enhance the technical level of brachitherapy treatment and scientific research in China for the benefit of cancer patients.
This conference invited international experts on radioactive brachiterapy: the inventor of radioactive brachytherapy for prostate cancer Prof. John C. Blasko from Seattle Prostate Institute, Prof. Gordon L. Grado from The Southwest Cancer Center, Prof. Bradley Prestidge the President of American Brachytherapy Society, Dr Zhao Lei from Harvard University, Prof. Tai Hsi from Korea SAM Hospital, Prof. Li Cairong, Prof. Jin Duixuan, and experts and professors from Japan, Philippines, Thailand and other countries to attend and give a speech. This conference also introduced the latest development on diagnosis and treatment on cancer and the most valuable researches in China and other countries.
Niu Lizhi P.Hd from Fuda Hospital was also invited to attend the conference. During this event he gave a speech with the topic of “Radioactive Brachitherapy and Cryosurgery For Pancreatic Cancer”, and his two academic papers “Cryosurgery and Brachytherapy To Treat Unresectable Lung Cancer” and “The Complications of Brachytherapy on Pancreatic Cancer – One Case Study” were also displayed.
