On Jun 20th 2013, at the invitation of the World Health Organization (WHO), a lecture of “Modern Cryosurgery of Cancer” was given by Professor Xu Kecheng at Geneva, Switzerland.
Started with the history, the mechanisms and the indications of Cryosurgery, Prof. Xu introduced the application of Cryosurgery on Lung Cancer and Liver Cancer, especially emphasized the achievement and security of Cryosurgery for advanced pancreatic cancer. At the last of the lecture, he addressed the combined application of Cryosurgery with Immunotherapy and the combined application of Micro-vascular Intervention with Immunotherapy, introducing the “3C+P” model of anti-tumor treatments in Fuda Cancer Hospital.
At the lecture, Prof. Xu also answered the questions put forward by the attended doctors from the UK, Switzerland, Germany and the Middle East.
Dr. Chang, the Secretary of the Division of Non-communicable Disease Control and Management of WHO, presided over the lecture. He said that, from the lecture presented by Prof. Xu they did see the importance of Cryosurgery for treating cancers. He expressed that it was really inspiring to be presented with the treatment progress of Cryosurgery applied for lung cancer and pancreatic cancer. And he added that the WHO would disseminate this technique to the world, and hoped all the experts could take part in the further research of Cryosurgery.
