The 2nd International (Guangzhou) Forum on Cancer Treatment
——Discourse on the latest concepts and treatments of advanced cancer by domestic and overseas specialists
From May 25th to 26th 2013, the 2nd International (Guangzhou) Forum on Cancer Treatment was held at the Fuda Cancer Hospital. The forum was attended by around 300 guests from mainland and foreign countries, attracting more than 35 international specialists to participate in presenting their special lectures.
Organized by Jinan University, Guangzhou China, undertaken by Fuda Cancer Hospital, the Forum was graced by the attendance and their unique lectures of three notable Academicians in China. They are Professor Mengchao Wu (Advisory-president of FUDA Cancer Hospital), “Father of the Hepatobiliary Surgery”, the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences; renowned hematologist Professor Zhenyi Wang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (Chief Medical Adviser of FUDA Cancer Hospital); and molecular oncologist Professor Qimin Zhan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
Thanks to the wide support from domestic and overseas specialists, the Forum was attended by the top experts from all over the country, and attracting numbers of authorities, guests and Medias from over 11 countries around the world including the USA, Austria, Indonesia, France, Lithuania, Japan, India, Bangladesh, the Saudi Arabic, the Philippines and Malaysia.
During the opening ceremony, President of Jinan University Daxiang Lu said,” This forum will focus on the latest concepts and treatments of advanced cancer, providing an international platform of academic communication about latest cancer treatments for clinical professions and scientific specialists, which is aiming to cooperate together to strive for people’s health by promotion of cancer treatments,” adding that “We have no reason to doubt that, this kind of dedication for serving all the society with painstaking scientific researches and experiences will become a source of human progress”.
With great honor, professor Xu, chief president of Fuda Cancer Hospital, School of Medicine of Jinan University, was appointed as the chairman of the Forum. He delivered his appreciation for the support of all the attendants in the Forum, and expressed that each of the guests would gain inspiration from the special lectures presentation and practices sharing by all the top experts, which would at last enhance the promotion of clinical application and research.
A special “Meeting the Renowned Specialists” buffet banquet was arranged for providing more opportunities of free discussion, exchanges and making friends with the academicians and professors in the first night. Apart from enjoying the performance by Fuda medical staffs, all the guests were also impressed by the instant interview of academician Mengchao Wu and academician Zhenyi Wang conducted by Ms Esther Law, vice-president of Fuda Cancer Hospital. During the interview, Professor Zhenyi Wang delivered his admiration of academician Mengchao Wu for his dedication to the medical field and for his unremitting devotion to saving people, regarding him as the top model of the medical professions.
